THE JIMMY GARVIN LANGSTON LEGACY
GRAND BAHAMAS ISLAND GOLF TOURNAMENT
July 2007

Forty junior golfers playing in a tournament in the Grand Bahama Islands ... in July????

Sounds too good to be true, but that’s exactly what happened when twenty Langston Legacy junior golfers traveled to the Bahamas for two glorious days in January 2006 to face twenty Bahamian juniors for the Jimmy Garvin Grand Bahama Island Golf Tournament.

After a friendly exchange of pins and other tokens of fellowship, the two teams squared off in a Ryder Cup format. The adults who accompanied the junior players had a tournament of their own as well.

Results? Bahama juniors: 13-1/2 points; Langston Legacy juniors: 11-1/2 points.

Exchange of Team Pins

The Bahamian junior team will visit Langston Legacy Golf Course later this year for a re-match.

The tournament concluded with an exciting awards dinner and program, an event that was enjoyed by one and all!

Thanks to Jimmy Garvin and Randy Clear for a wonderful collaboration.
